Girl Scout cookies, that is! Who’s not a fan of Girl Scout cookies? The proceeds support a great organization, one that contributed significantly to my childhood and young adulthood. And the cookies? Delicious. *Warning: Girl Scout cookie nerdery to follow.*
Most people I know are aware that different Girl Scout Councils may buy their cookies from different licensed bakeries. I grew up selling cookies from the Little Brownie Bakers – Samoas, Do-si-dos, Tagalongs, Trefoils, etc. And then that Council switched to the ABC Bakers (the less cleverly named Caramel Delights, Peanut Butter Sandwiches, Peanut Butter Patties, Shortbreads, etc.). I have to admit to being a little sad they changed bakeries…but this year, no matter! I have a cousin whose child is selling from ABC Bakers, and a friend whose niece is selling from Little Brownie Bakers! THE BEST OF BOTH WORLDS! WOO-HOO!! So we are getting our beloved Samoas and Do-si-dos, which are clearly the superior versions, from the one; and we are getting our Peanut Butter Patties – which I personally like better than Tagalongs – and Thanks a Lots (shortbread cookies dipped in chocolate) – which the other bakery doesn’t make – from the other. Sweet!!
So! Who are you getting your crack – I mean, cookies, from? What do you choose? What are your favorites, and do you have a bakery preference?
